About the Event
Following the launch of Luma on National Awakening Day, the Epistem initiative (Evolving Participatory Information System for Nature-based Climate Solutions) is holding the kick-off rembuk peta (mapathon) workshop. The rembuk peta is a collaborative mapping mechanism that connects practitioners, government representatives, and local communities through joint interpretation of land use and land cover.
The Mapathon activity will be conducted for over two days. The first day will feature presentations and plenary discussions to build a common understanding of the goals, methods, and planned stages of the rembuk peta series. The second day will be the kick-off rembuk peta and the building of the national rembuk peta roadmap.

- Build the initial collection of the modular reference data library through a joint interpretation method.
- Introduce the Epistem initiative’s collaborative mapping and rembuk peta implementation plans in the co-development of land use and land cover reference data that are integrated into mapping workflows.
